OCEANO, CA (July 10, 2019) – A teen boy who was riding a motorcycle at Oceano Dunes was injured in a crash in the afternoon on Tuesday. The July 9 incident occurred in the Maidenform Flats area of the dunes.
The time was roughly 1:00 p.m.
Reports say the boy—identified only as 16 years old—had been riding a motorcycle. He was in front of another vehicle, described as an ROV. The boy made a turn that was sudden, according to rangers for the State Park, and the ROV and the motorcycle collided.
The boy suffered a shoulder injury, rangers said, and a decision was made to airlift him to a hospital because he had blacked out for a short period of time. The boy’s current condition is not known. He was reported to have been the sole person hurt in the incident.
Reports say that the people involved in the accident are family members and from the Sacramento area. All were wearing proper gear that promotes safety, reports say.
