Two Semi Trucks and Car Collide on Sierra Highway in Newhall
NEWHALL, CA (June 26, 2019) – Early in the morning on Monday, two semi trucks and a car collided on the Sierra Highway in Newhall. The June 24 incident occurred in an area of the highway between Golden Valley Road and Placerita Canyon Road.
The time was roughly 7:10 a.m.
Reports say three vehicles collided, but no details are known from reports how the collision occurred, nor what the sequence was in which the three vehicles crashed. According to Vanessa Lozano, who is a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department, a fuel spill occurred from a ruptured tank. Neither of the trucks has been described. The car was described only as an electric vehicle.
The incident led to closure of the highway in the area of the crash. Reports say officials do not know the number of gallons of diesel fuel that spilled on the road. A hazmat team was called in to the scene.
It was reported that no one was injured in the incident. The identities of the drivers involved, including their names, ages, gender, and cities of residence, have not been reported. Investigators are working to understand the the details and factors of the crash to find out what caused it.
