Driver Backs into Lompoc Valley Cardiovascular Center Building
LOMPOC, CA (June 11, 2019) – On Monday, a driver backed into Lompoc Valley Cardiovascular Center, sending the back end of the driver’s vehicle into the building. The June 10 incident occurred on N. 3rd Street in the 100 block.
The driver had been reversing from a parking space, according to officials from Lompoc Fire Department, when the person stepped on the accelerator by accident. The vehicle crashed into the building, with its back end partially inside the building.
Reports say the person who had been driving the vehicle was not hurt in the incident. The identity of the driver, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported. The type of vehicle involved has not been described. It is not known from reports if anyone else had been an occupant of the vehicle as a passenger at the time of the incident.
According to reports, no one inside the building was injured. A person who staffed the desk at the front of the building was away when the collision occurred, according to officials.
