Boy Riding Skateboard Injured in Collision with Car in Santa Maria
SANTA MARIA, CA (May 10, 2019) – A boy who was riding a skateboard was injured in a collision with a car in the afternoon on Thursday in Santa Maria. The May 9 incident occurred on Hillview Road, close to Alice Shaw Elementary School.
The time was roughly 2:45 p.m., according to Santa Maria Police.
The boy riding the skateboard had been traveling north on Hillview Road, police say, and rolled into the road’s intersection. A vehicle was stopped at the stop sign. Reports say that as the driver began to accelerate, the boy on the skateboard traveled into the intersection.
The boy and the vehicle collided, and the boy landed on the car’s hood. According to police, the boy suffered injuries that were described as minor. His age and city of residence have not been reported.
The identity of the person who was driving the vehicle has not been reported, including the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence. It is not known if anyone else had been traveling in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
