Angelina Calderon Pinedo Killed by Hit-and-run Driver in Redondo Beach
REDONDO BEACH, CA (January 28, 2019) – Angelina Calderon Pinedo was killed by a hit-and-run driver in the evening on Saturday in Redondo Beach. The January 26 accident occurred on Aviation Boulevard in the 1600 block, close to Grant Avenue.
The time ws roughly 9:00 p.m., according to the Redondo Beach Police Department.
Reports say that Pinedo—identified as a college student 21 years old and a resident of Rosemead—had been in a crosswalk when she was hit by the vehicle. According to Shawn Freeman, who is a lieutenant, the person driving did not stop to help her, but kept heading south on Aviation Boulevard.
Detectives examined surveillance footage and interviewed people who witnessed the accident. They said the vehicle was an Audi SUV, black in color. The license plate includes “7MB.” According to detectives, the vehicle is damaged on the hood and front windshield.
According to police, Pinedo and her older sister, Martha Torres, had been walking together when the accident happened.
Investigators are looking into the evidence and information about the accident.
