Head-on Collision in South San Diego County Near Border Kills Two People
SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA (December 21, 2018) – A head-on collision that occurred in south San Diego County near the U.S.-Mexican border killed two people late in the evening on Thursday. The December 20 crash occurred on state Route 94, close to state Route 188 and to the west of it. State Route 188 heads to the U.S.-Mexico border crossing at Tecate.
The time was roughly 11:00 p.m.
According to reports, two vehicles collided, hitting head on. One of the vehicles erupted in flames, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Reports say that two people died in the crash. It has not yet been reported who the people were—their names, ages, gender, and city of residence. It is not known if the victims were located in two separate vehicles at the time of the crash, or if two people in one vehicle were killed. It is also not known from reports if the vehicles had any other occupants who were not killed in the crash, but may have been injured.
