Darrel Teeters Struck and Killed Walking Across Bryant Street in Yucaipa
YUCAIPA, CA (November 7, 2018) – Darrel Teeters—a resident of Yucaipa, 77 years old—was struck and killed by a vehicle on Tuesday was he was walking across a street in Yucaipa. The November 6 accident occurred on Bryant Street, where Yucaipa Boulevard intersects.
The time was roughly 8:16 a.m.
According to reports, Teeters had been walking across the road in a crosswalk when the vehicle hit him. The injuries Teeters suffered were serious, and responders took him to Redlands Community Hospital. Teeters died in the hospital. The types of injuries Teeters suffered have not been reported.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the driver was identified as David Higgins, a Yucaipa resident 37 years old. It has not been reported if Higgins suffered injuries in the accident.
What caused the crash is not known at this time. Investigators are looking at the details and information regarding the accident to understand what happened.
