Manhattan Beach Collision Kills Elderly Woman
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA (October 31, 2018) – A collision in Manhattan Beach on Monday afternoon killed a woman. The October 29 accident occurred where Marine Avenue and Cedar Way intersect, according to Tim Zins. Zins is a sergeant with the Manhattan Beach Police.
The time was roughly 12:15 p.m.
According to reports, the victim had been riding in a Honda Accord with her husband when their vehicle collided with another vehicle. Witnesses said a man was driving a pickup truck—described as a Ford F-150, white in color—traveling on Marine Avenue heading east. The pickup made a righ turn on Cedar Way.
The woman and man—both described as elderly—who were in the Honda were traveling on Cedar Way, heading south. Reports say that the car’s driver did not stop at the red light. The Honda and the pickup truck collided.
The woman suffered injuries that were described as severe. Zins said she was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The woman’s husband suffered injuries that were described as moderate. The person driving the pickup suffered injuries that were described as minor.
Responders took all victims to the hospital. The identities of the people involved in the accident have not yet been reported.
