Two SUVs Crash Into Goodwill Store in Placentia, Injuring 6 People
PLACENTIA, CA (October 10, 2018) – Two SUVs smashed into a Goodwill store in Placentia Tuesday afternoon, injuring six people. The accident occurred on Imperial Highway.
The time was roughly 4:12 p.m.
Reports say that one of the vehicles struck the rear-end of the other vehicle. According to Placentia police, five people who had been traveling in the SUVs suffered injuries, and one person who had been in the store shopping suffered injuries.
Six people suffered injuries that were characterized as minor. Responders took one of the victims to the hospital.
According to reports, David Collins said the Chevy Suburban he had been traveling in struck a GMC Yukon that was parked. Collins’ mother—identified as 88 years old—had been driving the Chevy Suburban, and while she was trying to park, her foot slipped onto the gas from the brake pedal. The Suburban struck the Yukon, causing both vehicles to crash into the store.
From the passenger seat, Collins put the vehicle in park and turned it off. His mother was taken to a trauma center after the crash.
