Two People Die in Tanker-Truck Fire in Hawthorne on I-105 Freeway
HAWTHORNE, CA (August 24, 2018) – Two people died in an accident in which a tanker-truck caught fire on the I-105 Freeway in Hawthorne Friday morning.
The crash occurred in the lanes of the freeway that travel westbound, close to the exit for Crenshaw Boulevard. The time was roughly 5:15 a.m.
An SUV was also involved in the collision, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The driver in each vehicle died.
California Highway Patrol said all lanes of the I-105 Freeway had to be closed at Prairie Avenue in both directions.
No other details are currently available regarding the identities of the people involved in the crash, or what may have caused it.
Investigators are working on examining the details.
