EL CAJON, CA (July 17, 2018) – One man died in a collision that involved a rollover vehicle on the 8 Freeway in El Cajon Tuesday morning.
The crash occurred in the lanes heading east on the 8 Freeway, near Dunbar Lane. The time was roughly 6:45 a.m.
The man was described in a report from the California Highway Patrol as being 50 years old.
According to the report, the man’s Mitsubishi Montero, described as burgundy, was traveling roughly 70 miles per hour at the time it swerved off the road. The car then hit a boulder and overturned in the lanes of traffic.
The impact threw the victim from the car. A coroner, who was called to the scene, pronounced the man dead. No information of the man’s identity has been released yet.
Investigators are examining the crash to find out what caused it.
